After 30 years as a professional fundraiser, I am taking some time to write a historical novel about Sarah Cloyce, a woman unfairly accused of witchcraft in 1692 Salem. Sarah survived, but her sisters Mary Esty and Rebecca Nurse unfortunately did not. She was invited by Lieutenant Governor Thomas Danforth -- the very magistrate who put her in jail -- to settle on his lands the next year. My fiction about her is juxtaposed with a modern and true story about how I worked to preserve the house she and her husband built there. See sarahclayeshouse.org for more information about Sarah and her house.
