Writing the middle of a novel can feel like being lost in the forest with neither a breadcrumb trail nor a compass. You may have a strong idea of where you want to end up – but how do you get there? The answer lies in discovering your novel’s structure, and the kinds of obstacles and complications your main character should encounter on the path toward her desire.
